Long Beach California 2019

Last week was Pride week in Long Beach Ca I have not posted in the blog tool lately and want to make it a must do after each event so members can share our fun. Pride week in Long beach is a good time to do just that.

Tim and I headed out late on Thursday for the 2 hour trip to the port city of Long Beach. Our Bus is up for sale and there was a bit of early rain so I wanted the streets to dry up and avoid having to rewash the bus for would be buyers. We were excited to make the event because having no entry in the parade gave us the time to finally visit the festival and relax with members. Dennis and Ed were host all I needed to do was help Ed with meatball sandwiches for the meet and greet. The event was wonderful. Thanks Dennis and Ed!

We had the chance to visit with members Dolly & Joyce, Paul & Shane, and Bob & Ben . They made the trip from Phoenix, Henderson and Chandler. I love road trips and we spoke about some Nevada and Arizona rv parks to visit and promote the fun and fellowship we find at these events.Tim and I plan to manage more formal events out of state and grow the member activity.

The Queen

just outside of the Resort is a bike path past the Catalina Express launch dock.  Can ot be more tan a mile walk. this is the view just past that dock

got on the old Queen

Yes we did. Tim and I walked to a water taxi and made the one dollar trek across the channel

Pot luck Saturday

The resort tables must weigh 300 lbs. we did a BYOB and BYO Chair. Long Beach has so much going on that Saturday potluck is always lite attended

Breaking away from the group on Saturday we walked our little Scottie dog to the marina and light house. Not a bad walk, it is about 3 miles round trip and there are a bunch of sites and people watching to do on the way.I was surprised that my gaydar found only a few pairs. I saw one guy give my Tim the long stiff one-eye. "Watch it dude, he is expensive."

Sunday is parade day and we had some rain.I wanted to do the parade and was able to Uber out for a brief last half. The crowd I am told was not as large as years past and can only imagine that it was because the RainboRV group was not marching but the weather may have played a bit in the role as well. Hard to say.

We reserved two weekends at the resort or 25 sites on one deposit because you can never tell when the actual event ill schedule. The grand Prix schedule take presidents with the city planners and that has not been set in stone yet. So long Long Beach, Until Next year.
